RE: Discipline is love
I have a confession: I hated disciplining at first…
It seemed like I could never find the right balance between being too nice and too strict.
When we hear the word “discipline”, most of us think of yelling, harsh punishments, and kids who feel frustrated and unhappy.
This is one of the biggest parenting stereotypes out there, and I’ve made it my life’s work to teach parents that discipline IS LOVE.
Good discipline and healthy boundaries will not only keep your children safe, but ensure their success later on in life.
“Discipline is not just about enforcing consequences. The real goal of discipline is to teach self-control!”
Introducing: Discipline with Courage & Kindness.
Welcome to my new and improved Discipline with Courage & Kindness course!
Do you know why you’re here?
The truth is, it’s because you’re a great parent.
You might be thinking, “How can I be a great parent? I’m here, looking for help!”
That’s exactly why.
I firmly believe that great kids are not born, but raised, and it’s my life’s passion to help parents raise great kids.
To do that, you need to have a plan for discipline.
We plan our weddings, birthdays, career choices — parenting is no exception.
Disciplining with courage and kindness is truly a labor of love, but I believe in you.
Let’s get started!

Course Curriculum
Discipline
WITH COURAGE & KINDNESS
I firmly believe that great kids are not born, but raised, and it’s my life’s passion to help parents raise great kids. To do that, you need to have a plan for discipline.
MODULE 1
Choose To Be Authoritative and Always Have a Plan
Effective discipline takes a lot of love and hard work, and most parents don’t understand that you have to plan your discipline and parenting strategies BEFORE an issue arises.
  • Understand the power of making a choice
  • Learn about the three parenting styles (and which one you want to be)
  • Learn how to be a smiling brick wall
MODULE 2
Shift your Parenting Perspective
In order to revamp your approach to parenting, we first need to understand why we parent the way we do now. All of our experiences leading up to parenthood —the way our own parents disciplined us, our history with authority— affect the way we parent our children.
  • Understand your parenting "preload" and your perspective
  • Step into your authority
  • See yourself through your child's eyes
MODULE 3
Apply the Four Principles of Healthy Discipline
Discipline is really an act of LOVE. Setting clear boundaries will not only keep your children safe, but ensure their success later on. Children without self-control become adults who will always struggle in life; that’s where the Four Principles come in.
  • Discipline is an act of love
  • Understand why your child acts up
  • The real goal is self-control
MODULE 4
Know Where you Are, and Where You’re Going
When it comes to raising great kids, there’s no overnight fix. It takes years of hard work to master intentional parenting, and this assessment section is designed to give you a roadmap. This section requires a lot of strength and vulnerability, but I know you can do it.
  • Assess yourself as the parent
  • Assess your child
  • Assess your situation, and your parenting team
MODULE 5
Learn How to Effectively Correct Bad Behavior
This section will teach you the importance of tone, eye contact and body language, and how your approach to bad behavior makes your children feel. My downloadable cheat sheets will also give you great discipline techniques that work for any age, so that your children feel safe and cared for.
  • Learn how to discipline and enforce consequences when needed
  • The importance of creating a safe space during "peacetime"
  • Downloadable cheat sheet and checklist for effective discipline
MODULE 6
Create Positive Moments and Build Great Character
Just like enforcing rules, encouraging and modeling good character is a vital part of effective parenting. I’ve worked with everyone from everyday parents to members of the NFL, and I’ll show you the exact character traits all these successful adults share.
  • The four essential character traits you want to build in your children
  • The Egg Roll Story: How to teach character by example

After discovering Dr. Meg Meeker’s approach to discipline we were able to share the same goals and focus. We finally agreed. hello, i'm dr. meg meeker, MD
This course is the result of decades of teaching, parenting, counseling with children, teens, and their parents on some of the harshest issues we deal with as parents.

That experience has lead me to travel all over the world teaching, speaking, and training on becoming AMAZING parents.

It’s why the chairman of the NFL called me to request my immediate help in teaching their players and staff how to be better parents and break the chains of abuse and sadness.

It’s why I’ve appeared on TV, stages, and media all across the globe, talking about my books.

I am excited to announce my new course, and provide a powerful tool for parents everywhere.

Discipline with Courage and Kindness:  Be the parent your child NEEDS. Build character in your children, and learn how to know when to PROTECT, and when to RELAX.

FAQ
I have young kids. Is this for me?
Yes! This course will help you get off on the right foot when it comes to disciplining your child. Many parents get off to a bad start when it comes to disciplining their kids— they either discipline too much, too little, or establish very bad habits (yelling, stonewalling, or pushing kids away). The sooner you start utilizing these principles in your parenting, the happier your child will be and the healthier your relationships with him/her will be.
My kids are grown and gone. Is this for me?
Even if your kids are grown and gone, remember, they are not full adults until they have fully-formed frontal lobes— the part that controls higher executive functioning. And until they do, they still need help from you, the parent. Discipline takes a different shape with a 19-year-old, but the principles for healthy communication of discipline remain and you (the adult) must behave like the adult because your child is still maturing. Every older child needs you, the parent, to continue to put boundaries in place and help him develop control over his life. This course teaches every parent how to implement these strategies.
I have teenage kids. Is this for me?
Yes and yes! Parents of teens need this course even more than parents of toddlers. Why? Teenagers, even more than toddlers, need healthy discipline from parents because this is a time in life when they can do serious harm to themselves if they don't have boundaries put in place. Since teens are not cognitively or emotionally able to put firm and healthy boundaries in place for themselves, parents must. An angry toddler can yell "No, I won't" to a parent, run into the other room, and have a temper tantrum without doing too much harm to him/herself. But when an angry 16-year-old with a set of car keys in his hands yells, "No, I won't" to a parent, he can get in his car and kill himself. Every parent must remember that full brain development in a child isn't complete until that child is in his or her early twenties. That means that parental discipline is critical to every teen if he is to mature into a healthy adult.
